And Lo!
It shall come to pass that the Earth shall be engulfed in the heat of the Sun - until it become like unto a Living HELL!!!
I don't know where you are reading this from, but HERE, in the Northeast of the USA (NY & PA are where I share my time) it has been 90 degrees Fahrenheit for the past few days.
And it's been too hot to do much else but sit and watch my eyeballs melt.
In APRIL.
And it SNOWED a mere week or two beforehand (on my birthday, as it usually does).
So, don't try telling me that we aren't near some kind of mystical apocalypse.
I'm not buyin' it.
What I DO recommend buying (if you have yet to do so) is the new 3rd season - in DVD or Blu-Ray (or, for that matter, the first two seasons as well) of the VENTURE BROS animated series!
I received it for my birthday and have been diggin' the hell out of it!
(Of course, I HAVE to get Venture Bros stuff... due to my "6-Dimensions of Dr. Strange" fetish.)
You should get it too!
(product sales carousel presented for your shopping convenience)
The primary reason (well, aside from it being 1,000 kinds of awesome,) is that it has it's very own version of DOCTOR Stephen STRANGE; Master of the Mystic Arts, in the personage of DOCTOR Byron ORPHEUS; Master Necromancer. *
I could post pics and clips here all day, but I'll just toss up ONE (a montage of some the good Dr's earlier appearances) and a link to more of Orpheus' video goodness {HERE}.
Enjoy the clips, but if you DO wish to acquire any of the DVD's, CD's or swag, if you would make your purchase from my blog, I'd be most grateful.
*
In many interviews and commentary tracks, the creative team behind the show; Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer, have stated emphatically, that Dr. Orpheus IS their version of Dr. Strange.
And once you've watched and heard Orpheus in action, you can't help but imagine that voice and mannerism for Strange.
Try it. You won't be able to help yourself.

A STRANGE New Year...?
Reader Susannah sent me THIS piece of recent news:
---------------------------------------------------------------
From the Marvel website, Joe Quesada, Cup o' Joe column, 12-23-08:
This article found HERE.
So... what will 2009 bring to us?
A NEW Sorcerer Supreme (however temporary)?
A NEW direction and "creative interpretation" for Doctor Strange?
A NEW "STRANGE"-like disaster?
or
A NEW and SUCCESSFUL relaunch for the Master of the Mystic Arts?
I've been at this FAR too long to hazard a guess. Old-timers like myself have been teased far too many times to dare lay down odds (because they'd tend to be poor odds).
However, HOPE is magical.
And we are ALWAYS HOPEFUL... and thus, full of Magick!
Let us HOPE that Marvel...and DOC is filled with Magick this time around as well.
Tamam Shud!

From the Marvel website, Joe Quesada, Cup o' Joe column, 12-23-08:
JM: March also sees New Avengers #51 and the "Search for the new Sorcerer Supreme." Dr. Strange has been synonymous as that guy for so long…what's behind the impetus to change it?
JQ: The Marvel Universe is an unpredictable place. We have some very cool ideas for Dr. Strange and the world of the Sorcerer Supreme. I don't think I'm telling you anything you don't already know when I say that whenever Dr. Strange shows up as a supporting character, you go "Yes! This guy is so cool! Why doesn't he get his own book?" And then when we give him his own book…it doesn't seem to do all that much…
JM: Yeah, we talked about this before as "The Scottie Pippen Syndrome." He's great when Michael Jordan's around.
JQ: Yeah, exactly. There's a whole category of those guys. Dr. Strange is in that category, Nick Fury and SHIELD have always been in that category, Namor's a guy who kinda falls into that category…who else? The Silver Surfer, maybe.
So every now and then, we try to look for a new way to approach these characters,
and maybe find a new tone for story for these characters that might inject that...that
"thing", that magic - pardon the pun - that will take them to a higher level where
maybe we can launch them into a new book that will be compelling.
You know, Moon Knight was one of those characters, too, for a long time. We really got lucky with the [writer] Charlie Huston launch, and now that character's been stable and in his own series for years. If you asked me if we'd still be publishing Moon Knight several years down the road…I might have bet against it. But I love when stuff like that happens. So the search for a new sorcerer supreme will be a wonderful, redefining story for Dr. Strange, and…well, there are some big surprises coming for our fans in it.

Just a Mindless One
Sorry about the lack of any updates.
Low-content mode went to NO-content mode pretty damned quick.
Sadly, my brain has been crammed full of rocks and red-hot lasers.
A strange mixture of energized ennui.
A LOT of things I wanted to post, but I just couldn't concentrate enough to do it.
A Mindless One.
Anyway, there are some things that I wanted to write about in depth... but didn't.
Instead, I'll just give you the basic info and links here now instead.
Lazy-blogging. Sorry.
-------------
- NAMOR's physical appearance in
"SECRET INVASION : DARK REIGN # 1"
(as well as the writing on the whole book)
...WTF?!?!
I was going to go into a whole "rant" on it here and title the post;
"NAMOR The SUB-PAR-iner" - (as you can see I hadn't worked out all the kinks to it yet), but then I found out that the guys over at "Comics Should Be Good" did so HERE.
As you will see, I started the dogpile with post # 1 .
(The comments go south pretty darn fast after that.)
-------------
Another item that I saw the other day was THIS.
Rose McGowan has been selected for the role of "CLEA" in the upcoming
DOCTOR STRANGE feature film (scheduled for a 2012 release).
I actually had some stuff to say about it (and HAD a few things typed up ages ago about the possible casting of Christian Bale as "Stephen Strange"), but I didn't post that either.
I may still combine my thoughts on the both of them for a future post.
-------------
And, I was planning on posting a huge info-dump on all the recent Doctor Strange appearances lately, but Neilalien got one in the can while I was still working on mine.
So... check out his wise words on that subject HERE.
-------------
Alright.
That's it for now.
I'll try to have something awesome up here this weekend.

The return (& departure) of Strange Magic?
OK.
One more tidbit to tide you over.
Doctor Strange to be featured (in a BIG way) in New Avengers # 51.
Here's the cover by Billy Tan. For more info, check out today's installment of Joe Quesada's "Cup of Joe".

This cover seems to be about the VERY THING that I was going to base my weekend post on.
I'd better get the lead out.

Chaos Dances Through My Distracted Mind
I've been trying to write up a review for a recent Doctor Strange comic appearance.
Amidst the chaos of life, I just can't focus on it. I've re-written it three times and just can't get it together despite it dancing through my mind.
For some reason, I'm driven to distraction...
Hey, waitaminnit... Chaos...? Dancing...? Distraction...?
I'VE GOT IT!
While I'm trying to get my head together, why don't YOU enjoy THIS!
The "Chaos Magic" tossing, Gypsy-dancing, very distracting...
In the meanwhile, I'll try to wrap up my review (and a few other ideas that are in the works).
